BIRDING THE SEASIDE MARSHES AND ISLANDS

Birding on the Virginia Eastern Shore’s barrier islands, marshes and lagoons has something to offer in every season. The only islands with access from the mainland are Chincoteague and Fisherman Island, both of which include National Wildlife Refuge protected areas. This section deals with the remaining islands which are only accessible by water.
